Steller Construction Wins NARI Contractor of the Year Awards 2022
January 24th, 2023 – Steller Construction is pleased to announce that we received four CotY Awards for 2022! NARI’s Contractor of the Year (CotY) Awards are the premier recognition program for the remodeling industry, showcasing remodeling excellence as demonstrated in various categories.
Bathroom Remodel $25,000-$50,000
These homeowners wanted a spa-like oasis in their home but were limited with the existing layout of the space. We were able to move the location of their tub to give them ‘his and hers’ vanities. We also removed a header above the shower area, which really brightened up the shower experience.
Custom features in the vanity allow the homeowner to get ready at a new make-up counter along with a pull-out drawer to store her hair appliances. Outlets were also hidden in the man’s vanity for his razor and electric toothbrush.
Creative tile layouts and new lighting really complete this transformation.
The shower features Firenze Carrara Marble with Victoria Grey Marble accents. Removing the header brightens up the space. The homeowners are also thrilled to now have a built-in bench and niche to store their shower products.
Residential Detached Structure
The homeowners requested an outdoor pavilion that would be an extension of their indoor space. It was important to create different zones in the pavilion so that multiple people could enjoy it at the same time without being on top of each other.
The 34’ x 30’ pavilion was designed to make the outdoor space usable even during the rain or colder seasons. Two industrial, natural gas heaters were installed in the space to keep everyone warm.
The pavilion is also a great place to cook and entertain. A grill, fridge, sink and storage areas were added along with a lounge area.
Commercial Specialty Award
It’s not every day that a contractor gets a request to remodel a space to become an indoor volleyball club with five sand courts. We were tasked with changing this commercial space from what once was a laser tag and arcade center for kids to a fun sports zone for adults. The space not only features sand volleyball but also has a bar, dart boards, cornhole and other interactive games in the lobby.
Outdoor Living Space Over $250,000
Every project comes with its own set of unique challenges, but this project exceeded that due to the age of the home. Having being built in 1841, these homeowners wanted to make sure to pay homage to the home’s history yet update the outdoor living spaces for their active family of five.
The old pool was not in workable conditions when the homeowners bought their house a few years ago. After a thorough inspection from a pool contractor, it was determined it was not salvageable. Once that diagnosis was made, the homeowners decided it was time for a new plan.
The old patio was made of bricks and unfortunately, they were crumbling and uneven. The patio also sloped towards the home’s foundation, causing water problems in the basement.
The homeowners wanted different zones in the patio so that kids and adults could enjoy it at the same time. The new space features a bocce court, swim spa fitness pool, new upper and lower sitting areas and a large pavilion.
