Pune, India – The Resourceful Education Foundation, (REF) NGO handed over a cheque of Rs 2,86,900 to Prof. Ramkrishna More Arts, Commerce & Science College, Akurdi, Pune at a presentation ceremony held at the college campus recently.

The cheque was handed over by Dr Rotash Kanwar, Advisory Committee of REF and Ex-Director of Health Services, Ordnance Factory Board, Kolkata along with Mrs Shilpa Bhoire REF staff to Dr Abhay Khandagale, Principal Prof. Ramkrishna More Arts, Commerce & Science College.

“The work done by Resourceful Education Foundation is noble. It is for a noble cause. Students need financial aid to proceed in their careers. REF is a beautiful platform to help and work for underprivileged students,” said Dr Abhay Khandagale, Principal Prof. Ramkrishna More Arts, Commerce & Science College.

“We made a team from our institute and shortlisted the needy students. We could see a few students managed to get admissions paying just a small amount. The paying fee of 3-4 thousand was a challenge for some students.

The Resourceful Education Foundation volunteered to take care of these needy students. We worked on the proposal and finalized the students for the scholarships. I am glad REF has paid the entire fees of some students while some other underprivileged students balance fees were paid amounting from Rs 1,700 to Rs 26,180,” informed Principal Dr Abhay Khandagale.

“We know several institutes require help like us I recommend REF to such institutes where students can get financial help for further studies,” said Dr Abhay Khandagale.

The presentation ceremony was opened by Dr Bejamee Lobo, Student Welfare Officer. He highlighted the plight faced by underprivileged students of Prof. Ramkrishna More Arts, Commerce & Science College.

” Resourceful Education Foundation approached us to offer help to underprivileged students of our college. We had a number of such students who were intelligent and hard-working but lacked financial support for further studies. We are happy today that these students have an opportunity to continue further studies and for that, we thank Resourceful Education Foundation for the help extended to us,” said Dr Bejamee Lobo.

The students who received financial help expressed their gratitude and assured all the dignitaries that they would give their best to excel and stand out in their academics as a token of appreciation from their end.
Priyanka Jagannath Kudale, student of T.Y. B.A was physically challenged. Her deteriorating eyesight did not dampen her vision for further studies.

” I was informed about the Resourceful Education Foundation through our college. My mother is the breadwinner of the family. She works in the fields as my family members are physically challenged. I had great difficulty in paying my hostel and college fees. Today I am extremely pleased that my dreams of further education are realized through REFs intervention,” informed Priyanka.

Shubham Balasaheb Bade, student of S.Y. BCS total fees of Rs 26,815 was a big financial burden for the family. “I got admission paying only half the amount of my college fees but an unexpected medical situation drained our family resources. I was unable to pay the remaining amount. At that point in time, Resourceful Education Foundation rescued me from dropping out paying the amount of my fee,” said an overwhelming Shubham.

Anil Shinde, Registrar of Students Welfare Board Pune acknowledged the noble work done by Resourceful Education Foundation. He is actively involved in helping out such deserving students at the campus.
“I got to know of Resourceful Education Foundation’s work when Shilpa Bhoire stepped into our college premises for the first time. These students really were in need of financial help for further studies,” informed Anil Shinde, Registrar of Students Welfare Board Pune.
